Internet Casino Sucker Bets — Part 2

  • Progressive side wagers: Games such as Caribbean Stud Poker often offer one of these. You usually put a wager ($1 is the usual value) to try to win a side jackpot that could be upwards of $25,000. Though big jackpots like these are particularly appealing, they are also particularly hard to succeed. You might need to hit a Royal Flush in order to win this bet. Also, imagine this- you play 20 hands and lay the side bet each time. That’s twenty dollars you should have used towards the real game bet in place of a sucker wager. Picture what you could have been able to win at a bet with more favorable odds utilizing that $20.
  • Single number wagers in Roulette: This is especially true for American Roulette. The reason? American Roulette has 2 0’s on the wheel, as opposed to European Roulette, which has just 1. This takes the overall house edge from 2.63percent with one zero wheel to a whopping 5.26% in American. The single number bet has only a 1 in thirty eight chance of succeeding, which are very big odds indeed. Bet on even-odd or black-red wagers alternately which have a much lower casino advantage.
  • Keno: Any variation of Keno, and regardless of how you bet on it, the house advantage can be a whopping 25%. Yes, that isn’t a typo. Because of the large amount of numbers you have to choose, it isn’t advisable to wager on Keno very much. A couple of times for entertainment, maybe. But don’t spend all your money on it or you will quickly find yourself broke.
